Sharing a curated collection of inspiration lights me up. With July knocking on our doors, it is time to share my list of people, books, and stories that are filling me with grace and beauty.
Introducing Juile Piatt
Funny how people come into our lives right when we need them. Before I discovered Juile Piatt, I had discovered her husband, ultra marathoner Rich Roll and his pod cast, 'The Rich Roll Podcast'. Once day he had his wife on the podcast and I thought to myself, 'WHO is this woman?!'.
Juile is a mother of four, a musician, cook book author, artist, yogini and true wise woman. She now has her own podcast called Divine Through Line, where she shares her life stories, in a raw authentic way. She also includes healing meditations in her podcasts and ends most podcasts with one of her original songs she has recorded with her 2 young sons.
Juile and Rich have been married for 17 years and live in Malibu Canon in an amazing home they built. Their vegan cook book, The Plant Power Way is awesome. Rich has written a book called Finding Ultra, where he shares his story of addiction, sobriety and becoming one of the world top 25 fittest men. Life wasn't always so good for Juile and Rich. They openly share about a 7 year period they went through, which Julie calls a 'dismantle', They were essentially broke, their cars were seized and their house was in foreclosure. Julie's strong faith and spirituality kept her true to her values which are centred around following your heart and doing what you love. She now sees 'the dismantle' as a spiritual journey that helped them both know their true selves.
If you need a life pick up, I recommend checking them both out and their cook book.
Listen to the talk on surviving a life dismantle.
One of the reasons I admire Julie Piatt so much is because of her courage to tell the truth. I have always been a truth seeker. When I wanted to use a natural skincare line for my own skincare studioI I was a blessed to be guided to Dr Hauschka skincare. Another truth speaker I have been following is Kim Anami. I have't spoken about my discovery of Kim Anami until now. Kim describes herself as a holistic sex and relationship coach and a vaginal weight lifter. Yes you read that right.
'A woman disconnected from her sexuality and her vagina, is operating at a massive disadvantage'
Meet Kim Anami.
I discovered Kim in January of this year. She was being interviewed by Daniel Vitalis and she didn't hold back from speaking passionately about the state of most women's sex lives in our western culture. She disagrees with the prevailing view point doled out by doctors and sex therapist, that most women are not capable of a vaginal orgasm, g-spot orgasm, or multiple orgasms. Kim believes that with education any woman can have these types of experiences.
Truthfully listening to Kim in that interview with Daniel, I was riveted and scared. Could my sex life be better? Could I learn how to have multiple orgasms? Could sex transform me?
For some time I had been feeling that there must be more to sex, then what I was experiencing. My truth seeker hadn't found an answer to my niggling doubts about sex being over rated.
What about vaginal weight lifting? Kim claims most women vagina's are numb, which is why we aren't having mind blowing sex. Vaginal weight lifting using a jade egg is an ancient Taoist practice to tone, strengthen and reawaken the vagina. Kim obviously is taking it to a whole new level in her own personal practice.
Feeling fear and not really sure what this woman was all about, but also feeling like life was presenting me with the next step in my evolution, I signed up for Kim's 8 week 'Vaginal Kung Foo' online course.
Ladies, all women need to have access to the information Kim is teaching. I think it is life changing. It goes beyond, having more or better sex. Sex is a potent energy, and we can use it and harness it to fuel our lives. Most of us do sex in a way that depletes our energy.
My husband and I are now in going through Kim's 'Coming Together Course'. More about that another time.
